[ShopeePay] What is Cooling-Off Period?

The cooling-off period will be imposed starting from 31 December 2024 when any one of the following actions is performed:
 
  • ShopeePay account is activated for the first time
  • A new device is used to login to the ShopeePay account
  • The app is deleted, reinstalled, and logged in again on the same device
 

⚠️ Note:

The cooling-off period will last for 12 hours from the time it is triggered.

Several services will be impacted during the cooling-off period as follows:
 

Transactions that can be performed

Transactions that cannot be performed

· Top up of ShopeePay wallet via FPX, Giro, Credit Cards, or Debit Cards

· Receive funds from any payment channel

· Perform payments up to a cumulative limit of RM250 (for both online and offline merchants), including checking out using ShopeePay on Shopee and bill settlement for SpayLater.

Transfer of funds out of the ShopeePay wallet. These include:


· DuitNow QR

· DuitNow Transfer (via mobile number, account number, NRIC, and Army/ Police ID)

· ShopeePay Ang Bao

· Withdrawal of funds to bank account

· Transfer via contact

· Oversea Transfer

· Merchant payments 

 
The cooling-off period is introduced to prevent unauthorised transactions from taking place by providing a buffer period during which suspicious activities can be flagged. The cooling-off period will last for 12 hours from the time it is triggered.
